Lady Knights vs. Bosqueville

6 May 2018 by Robin Hess

The Lindsay Lady Knights saw their season come to a close with a loss to Bosqueville by scores of 12-2 and 9-3. I thought we played well in the second game on Friday. We seemed to put the ball in play more. We struggled in the first game only coming away with 2 hits on Thursday. We also struggled laying off the rise ball. We scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning in game 1 when Bethani Cornelison led off the inning with a double. Olivia Hertel drew a walk, Brianna Craigie hit a shot in the gap for a double scoring Bethani and Olivia. We had to move fields in the top of the 5th because they had issues with the lights. We finished the game at North Crowley. In game 2, we started off well scoring a run in the first. We scored again in the 3rd and 4th inning. In the bottom of the 2nd, we let them score 6 runs. After that we were pretty solid on defense. We had bases loaded in the top of the 7th but couldn’t get runs across the plate. We left 7 runners on the bases. We couldn’t come away with a timely hit to score.
Over all the season record was 13-15. We will graduate 3 seniors. We will have a great group coming back next year. Hopefully, they will still be hungry for the playoffs next year and know what it is like to get there and work hard to do that. I am proud of the softball program and all the girls who put time and effort to make themselves great softball players. It was a great year. Looking forward to the next. Thanks for the memories.
